Skegness Springs Visit Wire Düsseldorf – A Quick 24-Hour Trip
We recently made the trip back to wire Düsseldorf after several years away — although this time it was a bit of a quick turnaround.
With things busy back at the factory, we kept it to a 24-hour visit. Early start, straight into the show on Tuesday, and then back home again.
Travel Challenges
The journey itself wasn’t without issues. Ongoing German airline strikes caused disruption, and from speaking to exhibitors, it sounds like numbers on the Monday had been quieter than expected because of it. By the time we arrived on Tuesday, things had picked up, but it was still noticeable.
Meeting Others in the Industry
A big part of the visit was catching up with people and making new connections. We spoke with a number of other spring manufacturers, including several from the UK.
Being based in Skegness, we’re not exactly in the middle of the spring manufacturing world, so getting the chance to meet others in the industry face-to-face is always valuable.
Suppliers and Technology
We also took the opportunity to meet with some of our main wire and machinery suppliers. It’s always useful to have those conversations in person, as well as to see first-hand how technology is continuing to evolve across the industry.
A Useful Visit
Even with limited time, it was good to get around the exhibition and see what’s new across the sector — from materials to machinery and general approaches.
For us, it’s about staying connected and keeping up with the wider industry, even if it’s just for a short visit.
Looking Ahead
All in all, a short but worthwhile trip. It was good to be back, and we’re looking forward to the next opportunity — ideally with a bit more time to spare..
